They have a good track record, experienced coaches and cold beer. Boston doesn’t have a lot of axe-throwing venues but it’s hard to go wrong with Urban Axes.

We had a blast at our one-time outing, which was admittedly quite uncommon! Luckily for us, the instructor was super friendly and helped make sure we were all having a great two hours. We learned how to throw with both hands and one hand, competed in a round robin style tournament – it’s like Hunger Games but without arrows – then capped off the night with an action packed knockout tourney. Plus there were beers (ooooh!), seltzers (aaahh!) sodas (refreshing!). Sure $50 per person is pricey…but after that fun time no wonder they asked me directly “how much would you like to tip her?” That might have been unclassy of them…so I decided not to give any tips — just lots of laughs! – K
My fiancé and I had a blast at this place – the staff were so friendly they could turn any frown upside down. We’ll keep coming back here, no doubt about it! Just be careful in that tight parking lot though unless you fancy risking turning your car into an origami project. – P

Our office experienced the ultimate team building outing – axe throwing! Our instructor, who I think was named Sh…something?, had us feeling in top form with his upbeat attitude and helpful guidance. We washed down delicious pizza and wings with a great selection of drinks as we threw axes for the first time ever. It was so much fun that we can’t wait to go back again soon! – J
Group activities are always a blast – until someone finds out one of the coaches isn’t that into it! But don’t worry, despite the hit-and-miss coaching our crew had an awesome time. We were treated like family and will definitely be memba’in this experience for years to come. – O
Axe throwing was totally rad with my 10 friends! Shelby made our experience legendary- hyping us up like there’s no tomorrow and bestowing his knowledge on how to make the perfect throw. Even though I had zero axe tossing skills (hey, everyone has to start somewhere), he showed me lots of love by cheering me on and making sure we were all laughing hysterical. This place is definitely worth a re-visit – you won’t be disappointed! – B
We had an absolute blast! This place was fantastic, giving us something totally different to do. Our coach was stellar – not only did she make it enjoyable but kept trying her best to help us get our axe throwing technique down pat despite all of us being a bit hopeless at first. – M
I’m having the time of my life at this new spot! Who knew that axe throwing would be so much more than a coming-of-age right, it’s an absolute blast. And the staff is really friendly too – they’ve helped me join leagues and organize huge events with friends. I never want to leave this place…unless I get majorly outnumbered by lumberjacks! – B
