Quite possibly the axe-throwing capital of America, going by the sheer choice of venues. If you’re looking for Washington axe throwing, these would be our suggestions.
Bad Axe Throwing Washington DC
The first Bad Axe venue in DC. A large chain and a safe choice no matter where you are in the sport. A great place for a fun day out and WATL leagues if you want to get more competitive.
Price Range: $$
Address: 2419 Evarts St NE Unit C, Washington, DC 20018
My husband and I stumbled into a night of strike-worthy fun! We booked in as walkers with no wait, so we ended up enjoying the lane all to ourselves. Our instructor was an actual gem; they were very attentive during our entire game – not even giving us any gutter balls (which is probably why we had such a good time). This place would be great for bigger groups too – e.g., birthdays or office parties – especially if you want something other than boring beers & burgers! Highly recommend it…now excuse me while I get my bowling shoes on again ; ) – I
Celebrating my birthday was made extra special with a trip to Coach Dontae’s – an experience so awesome that we will be sure to repeat! It truly felt like the best way possible to mark this momentous occasion. – G
Kick Axe Throwing DC
Food, drink and experienced instructors ready to show you how to fling axes around. Much more of a bar scene than a competitive vibe compared with some of the other venues.
Price Range: $$
Address: 1401 Okie St NE STE 102, Washington, DC 20002
On Monday, my fiancé and I got our ax-eology on at Kick Axe. Dollar for dollar it was the best date night – nothing beats chatting away over axes being thrown…while saving coins! Plus we had a bundle of fun with all the games they have to get your mind off not hitting that bulls eye every time! Highly recommend you try this activity out soon if you’re looking for something different but loads of laughs. – M
If you’re looking for an amazing hangout spot with a lively atmosphere, then this is it! Not only do they host the coolest DJs and bands around but also have axe-throwing to enjoy. The only downside may be that the bartenders get annoyed when patrons act up – so mind your manners folks or prepare yourself ‘for battle’ against them! – C
Bad Axe Throwing Denver (Washington St.)
Another Bad Axe venue. Hard to go wrong with these guys.
Price Range: $$
Address: 7338 Washington St, Denver, CO 80229
It was a blast! Our work team took on an activity none of us were experienced in, but with the superb help from Kitty and her friendly staff we managed to become masters within an hour – Cheers! There’s something for everyone since drinks (both alcoholic and non) are provided. – D
Our best friend’s birthday celebration took an exciting turn when we headed off to the axe throwing range! With Shawn as our expert guide, he sure made us pros at hurling hatchets in no time. We even aced it so much that there is already talk of returning for another fun-filled afternoon soon. – j
Blade & Timber
Price Range: $$
Address: 206 Broadway E, Seattle, WA 98102
We had an awesome time at my friend’s birthday! Our coach, Michael, was a real pro and helped us all achieve our ax-throwing dreams with ease. From zero to bullseye in no time – one of my buddies did it in 11 minutes flat! The atmosphere was top notch thanks to the great lighting and facilities; plus Mike kept checking up on us so we were always safe. Plus there were drinks served AND delicious pizzas for anyone that wanted food after their effort throwing axes? Sounds like you’ve got yourself a winner if you’re looking for something fun & special 😉 Highly recommend!! – P
Throw away the bouquet and grab an axe, because Blade and Timber is where it’s at for a memorable bachelorette experience! Our instructor threw axes like he was taken right out of The Walking Dead – zombie apocalypse? Not with him on our team. Punctual to boot – don’t be late or expect overstays; just keep track on their whiteboard. And don’t forget about nibbles: bring your own food but get yourself some big drinks from them (their friendly staff will help you choose!). Who says throwing sharp objects isn’t fun?! We definitely recommend giving this a try! – A
Pacific Axes
An indy axe throwing venue. Great staff whether you want to practice your skills or just get the basics down (like throwing the axe in the right direction).
Price Range: $$
Address: 16425 NE 80th St suite 110, Redmond, WA 98052
My buddy’s birthday was no ordinary celebration – we spent the hour throwing axes and ninja stars! Even better, an attendant provided us with all the safety instructions plus helpful advice for nailing those bullseyes. I don’t think any of us knew what to expect when booking our spot online a week ago, but who would have known it’d be so much fun spinning four little axes at once?! We’ll definitely be back before you know it – afterall, how often do you get to act out your teenage-movie fantasies? – J
Whether you are a first-timer or an old pro, this place is sure to keep you entertained! They provide plenty of ‘ammo’, knowledgeable staff with helpful tips and the parking’s not too shabby. Three of us had loads of fun in just one hour – we’d definitely suggest giving it a go for some serious target practice excitement! – J
Kraken Axes
Another indy venue with a nice twist. Kraken also includes a rage room and pickleball. On top of that, the private rental rates are pretty reasonable compared to some of the other venues.
Price Range: $
Address: 840 E St NW, Washington, DC 20004
I had a smashing time here! The staff was superb, and our trainer Alex absolutely rocked. In no time at all I went from zero to hero with ax-throwing – thanks to masterful mentorship by Alex. It may be slightly steep in price (for mere mortals like us!) but for $30/hr or $40 for 90 mins you get an amazing coach thrown into the mix plus some draft beers and snacks on top – what more do ya need? Well, okay it could use a kitchen too..but that’s just me getting picky 😉 – T
Kraken’s ax throwing experience blew me away with its hilarity and sheer difficulty! Jimmy and Mike were the perfect hosts, giving us a warm welcome in addition to teaching us how to safely handle our new weapons. If you’re looking for an unforgettable time that’ll have you laughing one minute then feeling like Katniss Everdeen the next—Kraken is definitely worth checking out! – M
Bullseye Lane Axe Throwing
We’re going to include this one on the list, but… I’m not sure it’s such a hit. They charge extra for things that other venues include with the price. Given the sheer amount of choice – probably not one I’d suggest.
Price Range: $$
Address: Opera Alley, 705 Court C # 307, Tacoma, WA 98402
My son and I visited Bullseye Lane Axe Throwing for a weekend of good old-fashioned axe throwing (who knew that was even an option?). We prepped with some great tips from the experts, then let loose! Surprisingly, our hits trumped expectations. If you’re searching for something fun on your next free day – trust me – this one’s worth a shot(put). Bottom line: it’s guaranteed to provide both thrills and chills! – D
If you’re looking for a spot to show off your skills with an axe, this may not be the place. Our experience here was less than exciting and we had more fun at other locations! We wouldn’t recommend spending extra money on their fancy lane with digital score keeping – it’s just not worth it when there isn’t even any booze or food nearby (not cool). At least staff were nice…oh well, hopefully our next outing won’t leave us feeling so disappointed. – B
High Trek Axe
Another venue on the expensive side.
Price Range: $$$
Address: 11928 Beverly Park Rd Building D, Everett, WA 98204
Ax-perts: Proceed with Caution! We took a gamble on axe throwing and were left feeling seriously shortchanged. The staff was lovely, but for the cost of TWO lanes ($140/hour), you’d expect more than porta potties, no heater and an overly worn target that made it difficult to stick any axes?! And don’t forget about dodging raindrops under their tiny overhang; not exactly worth writing home about. Six axpersons couldn’t even comfortably fit in one lane – talk about stingy! Save your coins folks – there are plenty of other spots near by where you can fling steel without buyer’s remorse(cue evil laugh). – K
Our staff bonding day was a super fun, axe-tossing extravaganza! We may have been unprepared for the chilly air outside, but once we got throwing axes like pros it warmed our hearts – and maybe some of us even had more impressive throws than others 😉 – A
Axe Kpr Axe Throwing
Price Range: $$
Address: 8425 Chapel Hill Blvd STE C104, Pasco, WA 99301
Want to have some serious fun with your friends this weekend? Look no further! The super-professional team at Throwing Hatchets are the perfect hosts for an amazing time. Safety comes first, obviously – but you also get three objects of choice to hurl – hatchet, throwing stars and ninja swords– so what’s stopping you?! You won’t even need reservations; there’ll be plenty of parking spaces available in surrounding lots. Let loose and let them provide all the axe-hilaration that ya need. – B
After much deliberation around how to entertain the entire brood for the Holidays, I stumbled upon a brilliant idea – Axe throwing! We all had an amazing time at AXE KPR aiming for bullseyes and perfecting our ninja star skills. The grandparents even got in on it with some mini hatchet chucking too. If you’re ever stuck figuring out what to do when family is back home again, this activity will have them coming hobbling bacK full of smiles. Swing by AXE KPR if you don’t believe me! – J
Tomahawk Axe Throwing Venue
Price Range: $$
Address: 3533 172nd St NE Bldg #B, Arlington, WA 98223
At this amazing facility, you’ll find helpful staff and a nice owner. The place is sparkling clean – almost too good to shoot targets in! Fortunately they’re coming up with something really cool: digital concept games projected on the wall. My only gripe? You get 75 minutes for your money but 30 of that goes to training; it’s like paying full price for half-price fries! Let’s hope they extend playtime or don’t start until after training so we can enjoy every last second of target practice fun. – B
Are you exhausted from searching for quality customer service? Look no further! Our experience with owner Dana was nothing short of amazing. She cheerfully took the time to hear all our requests – decorations, food, drinks and even a gender reveal balloon (to be popped by axe)! And that’s not where it ends…She also allowed us an extra hour for party games at fair prices in a sparkling clean facility. WOW indeed! We could go on about how great she is but we’ll just say this: If only every shopping journey had such happy endings as ours did here ???? – J
Axe Kickers
Price Range: $$
Address: 10843 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98168
This is the place to be if you’re looking for a riotous good time! Dan, one of the owners, will give you all the safety advice and throwing techniques training your heart desires. Plus there’s food, drinks and fun music pumping out – perfect whether it’s team building with workmates or just hanging out with friends. And don’t forget about their competition leagues! All this awesomeness comes at an awesome price point too – definitely worth every penny so go check them out now! – N
When we arrived at the throwing range, our instructors bestowed upon us their divine knowledge of axe-throwing. Despite being novice flingers with more enthusiasm than skill, they helped shape us into a veritable team Axebassadors in just 15 minutes– ready to vanquish nearby targets and rival throwers! We all had so much fun that it’s safe to say returning is now on everyone’s agenda…forever. – C
Axe Bliss Axe Throwing
A fairly standard venue. A large open space, and not really a whole lot going on with it. It might be useful if the venue is close to you, but you might have more fun with some of the other venues.
Price Range: $$
Address: 15 Yakima St STE 201, Wenatchee, WA 98801
Our family had an unforgettable time – our ten-year-old and teen decided to just have fun, not make it a competition. We’ll definitely be making another visit soon for more incredible adventures! – M
We had an absolute blast as a family – not even one complaint! If it’s hot out, don’t forget your sunscreen and summer attire – but other than that the vibe was top-notch. We can definitely say we’ll be coming back for more fun soon! – s
Bellingham Axe
A good range of equipment (including various types of throwing knives). Part of the World Axe Throwing League and definitely a contender for the top of the list in Washington.
Price Range: $$
Address: 1414 Cornwall Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225
My husband and I had a blast celebrating his 30th birthday at Bellingham Axe! We found the perfect spot online, looking for an activity both of us can enjoy. As soon as we stepped in, it was obvious this place knows how to have fun – not only did our lane look amazing but all the staff members were incredibly friendly AND made learning how-to axe throw really straightforward. Trust me when I say you won’t regret your visit here whether it’s for date night or throwing an unforgettable party with friends! – J
Our team had the time of their lives at Bellingham Axe! We were equipped with a wide array of hurl-ables, and received helpful hints from knowledgeable staff to take our tosses up a notch. Plus we got to play ‘Zombie’ – it was so fun that my crew almost threw each other instead of axes! I can’t believe how quickly they improved after some practice – great job by everyone involved. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience then definitely head over to Bellingham Axe…just don’t forget your protective gear (unless you really want something thrown at ya!). – J
Heber Hatchets

Address: 2015 N Division St # B, Spokane, WA 99207
We had a blast and can’t wait to come back! This place is perfect for families looking for some creative entertainment – their safety rules are top-notch and the coaching was so helpful, we felt like professional axe throwers after one round. Highly recommend if you’re up for an entertaining outing with your loved ones! – M
Who says date night has to be dinner and drinks? My spouse and I decided to shake things up a bit by testing our hatchet-throwing skills at Herber Hatchets. We certainly had no shortage of laughs as we spent the evening engaged in some good old fashioned ax throwing – plus, there were plenty of fun games on offer too! And just for added measure, prices were great with staff that couldn’t have been more friendly. – F
Sea Axe
Price Range: $$
Address: 335 E Main St, Auburn, WA 98002
If you’re looking for a unique, lowkey outing with your pals – look no further! My martial arts crew and I had the time of our lives at this place. We even got to take over the entire gym after hours when it was super slow on Wednesday evenings. Our instructor Vance showed us all how it’s done while we provided some snacks and refreshments (a must!). If getting together with friends in support of an awesome neighborhood business sounds like fun then make sure to check them out pronto! – C
Looking for a unique date night or team outing? Look no further than axe throwing! Our inexperienced group of axers found ourselves sticking them with ease, thanks to our excellent instructor Vance. Plus, up the ante by attempting some ‘video’ games like Zombie Throwing and Tic-Tac-Toe – which will have you competing in an epic battle between brains and brawn. Highly recommend giving it a whirl…just watch out for any rebellious blades that may fly away from your hands! – D
Jackalope Axe Throwing Spokane

Tonight was a dream come true for our birthday celebration – and it’s all thanks to an incredible coach! Even with late arrivals, they managed the situation like pros. Then we were blown away when we found out that our friendly instructor had picked up the tab! We can’t wait to party again at this awesome spot soon! – M
Joe and Nino threw a party of epic proportions for the lucky 25! They brought together young ‘uns and old-timers to enjoy some axe throwing fun in an impressively clean environment. Everyone was so engaged that they were having such a great time, it definitely looked like everybody enjoyed every single minute of their exceptional adventure – kudos to Joe & Nino’s hosting skills! – P
